Can a Non-IT Engineer work in the DevOps field?
If yes, then how can I shift my career to DevOps? I don’t have much knowledge about the technical concepts of the IT field. Will it be easy for me to learn everything from scratch?
Please guide me in switching my career to DevOps being a non-IT Engineer.
Present SlideKeymasterIf you are not from an IT background then it would be a little tough for you to move into the DevOps field. But, if you start learning basics with all your dedication, it is not impossible either as a lot of people are moving into DevOps from a non-IT background.
Here are some prerequisites that you can start grasping before you make a switch:
- Basic understanding of Linux.Unix system
- Knowledge of a scripting language
- Knowledge of cloud systems
- Linux networking
- Basics of Web Servers including Apache, PM2, etc
- Basics of Databased like MySQL, MongoDB, etc
These are some skills that you can start with and then if you feel you are doing good, you can start diving deep into it.
